There is a broad spectrum of indie bands in Turku. This in itself is a strong testament to the pulsating musical climate that continuously produces new and innovative acts. Last week I was lucky enough to stumble upon yet another exciting under the radar band – indie rockers The Stillwalkers.
There are few to none recognisable carachteristics of their native Finland in the band’s music, which leans more towards the saturated American guitar rock sound of The National, Shins or Local Natives. Not even the vocals of singer Marko Äijälä give them away.
The band released their Everytune EP earlier this year and you can stream it in its entirety via SoundCloud below.
