Everytime Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds release new music there’s a 99.9% chance that I’m going to like it. Words like consistency and integrity come to mind.
Today the band released their new single “Jesus Alone” with accompanying video and all I can say is, another Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds classic has arrived.The song is exactly what you would expect from this band: beautiful, dark and introspective. Taking a minimalist approach, it centers around solemn droning that shadows Cave’s vehement and emotional delivery over sparse arrangements of strings and piano. Surrounded by dense ambience it slowly unfolds in front of you as a seanse-like ceremony.
“Jesus Alone” is taken from the band’s upcoming album Skeleton Tree, which will be released on September 9 alongside a new feature film called One More Time With Feeling.
