British newcomer Henry Green is the kind of artist who can make a huge impact with small means. The small town singer-songwriter’s visceral voice may be gentle in appearance but it can peel off a song as melancholy as his debut single “Shipwreck” to its darkest soul.
The cover of Green’s debut single captures the sense of serenity and innocence that “Shipwreck” evokes, with its pared down, feather light arrangements and soft, acoustic guitar strumming and reverberated guitars aching somewhere in the background. The world is a sad, twisted place. That’s why we need beautiful music like this.
Shipwreck comes out today, December 17th, via Bristol based label Night Talk Records.
