Seattle’s finest Chastity Belt have released a new single and video in anticipation of their upcoming album I Used To Spend So Much Time Alone, out on June 2.
The track is a slow-paced post punk number called “Different Now”, which strikes a more serious and tone than previous releases. Directed by Bobby McHugh, the video is an ironic take on Temple Of The Dog’s classic video for “Hunger Strike.” You remember that one right? Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell hiding in the weeds? Thee band dancing around a bonfire on the beach waving their hair around? Or maybe you weren’t even born in 1991 in which case nevermind.
The video might be ironic, but the track itself is far from it. Further than you might expect actually, from a band like Chastity Belt, which may not be such a bad thing.
I Used To Spend So Much Time Alone is out June 2 on Hardly Art.
